Leading in Multi-Generational Workplaces
Purpose:
The Botswana workforce today is more diverse than ever, with Baby Boomers, Generation X,
Millennials, and Generation Z working side by side (TriNet,2023) Each group has distinct
motivations and communication preferences. While older generations may value loyalty,
structure, and authority, younger employees increasingly demand purpose, empowerment, and
autonomy (HR Future,2023).
Traditional management approaches no longer resonate, resulting in disengagement, burnout,
and higher attrition when leaders fail to adapt.
